Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes, 1971

Gloria Steinem and Dorothy Pitman Hughes, 1971

from 300.00

This iconic image of the two founders of Ms. Magazine was taken by Dan Wynn in 1971 for Esquire Magazine and shows Steinem and Hughes sharing a large skirt, each with a raised fist salute to demonstrate feminist solidarity. A print of this image is housed in The National Portrait Gallery's collection.

Almost a decade earlier in 1963, Wynn photographed Gloria Steinem for her groundbreaking two-part series for Show Magazine, "A Bunny's Tale", her personal account of going undercover to work as a Bunny at Hugh Hefner's New York Playboy Club.

Not available anywhere else, fine art prints of this image are available exclusively through this official website.
